Heroin Response

Heroin Response – November 12, 2012

21 October 2012

Our Heroin Response program was broadcast live on November 12 at 7 p.m. on Nine PBS. Watch the entire program above.

The increased use of heroin in our communities has grown to epidemic proportions, resulting in a staggering number of addictions and deaths. In 2011, more than two hundred people died of heroin overdoses in the St. Louis region alone.

The Nine Network of Public Media and the Regional Health Commission have joined forces to create a better understanding of the heroin epidemic and connect the community to resources.

The program will be moderated by Nine Network Producer Jim Kirchherr and will include three panel members and a studio audience of approximately 150.

The topics of the Heroin Response will focus on risk factors, the stigmas associated with heroin addiction, community impact, prevention and treatment.

Watch our program on November 12 at 7 p.m. on Nine PBS. Participate in our Heroin Response Tweetup.
