Pathways: Tom Heard, whose son overdosed from heroin, talks about his son’s prescription drug use and how it led him to heroin.

 

There were Signs: A mother in the audience shares her experience and how she didn’t recognize the signs of her son’s heroin addiction until after his death.

 

Heroin Epidemic: This segment outlines the current heroin epidemic in our community.

 

Prescription Drugs: Dan Duncan from the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (NCADA) discusses the need for more responsibility from the medical community when it comes to dispensing prescription drugs.

 

Eugene: Eugene Staten has spent most of his life dealing with addiction, but today he is in active treatment and is clean and sober. The Nine Network’s Heroin Response program was broadcast live on November 12 on Nine PBS.
